Having a meal at the wallet-friendly restaurant only in Western Japan
Food is one of the entertainment you expect when sightseeing. Eating in a different environment revitalizes one’s brain. There are so many restaurants from all over Japan in Tokyo, so you can relatively eat different kinds of food. Since we took a bullet train I was planning to go somewhere completely new. But on the other hand, somewhere fancy is not wallet-friendly and child-friendly. Planning where to go beforehand could be a better idea, but sometimes playing it by ear could also be good. The restaurant where we went this time is called “The Meshiya”. It is a chain cafeteria restaurant, and the head office is located in Osaka. They only have their locations in the Tokai area, the Kinki area, and the Chugoku area. You can choose from 100 different varieties, and you can also make your plate. This kind of restaurant does not exist in Tokyo, so I chose so many foods on impulse. I got a tray and put plates with food on it. After you pay for it on the table, you can enjoy your food. Therefore, there is no waiting time and you can start eating what you love. They had child seats and child plates, so we could divide our food to the plates. It came with a paper apron, so I gladly used that for my child. This time my child ate white rice, pork miso soup, and omelet. I chose salad, salmon sashimi, grilled fish, white rice, pork miso soup, and matcha pudding. For the main dish, I got sashimi and grilled fish. It was only ¥1,500. You can change the white rice to seasonal matsutake mushroom rice. My husband chose fried food with miso sauce.
